What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love sharing my knowledge with the students I teach. I understand that Mathematics is a difficult subject for a lot of students so I really enjoy the moments when the student grasps and understands the content. I especially enjoy hearing students say that they no longer hate Mathematics as they can now understand it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am very patient, flexible and understanding. If a student is struggling, I will try various methods and approaches to find the right one for the particular student. I understand that a method that works for me might not work for the student so I will never force a student to follow just one method to find a solution. I also understand how stressful school can be and I can help students handle the stress level by teaching them skills such as time management and organisational skills.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to boost their confidence. This boost in confidence will increase the student's self-esteem and, consequently, will help improve their grades. If a student can finish a session with a smile on their face and the confidence that they understand the concept, the session was very successful.

I recommend that Josh continues to ensure that he's double checking his work. Always check the units, rounding instructions and what the question is actually asking.
Josh showed great recall of concepts from last year. There were some things that he couldn't quite remember but was able to do once given minimal prompting.

Josh should continue to work on double checking his answers. He should be checking three key things at the end of each question: units, rounding instruction and double checking what the question is actually asking.

Josh showed great understanding of the concept and was able to interpret what the questions were asking. We also looked at some concepts that haven't been covered in class and Josh was quick to grasp these concepts. It is also great to see Josh's confidence in this subject.
I think the biggest thing for Josh to consider is the restricted time situation for his end of year exam. We are currently working on finding ways to do multiple choice questions efficiently.
