What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy tutoring because it's a two-way conversation. A student can ask questions and is far more active in the learning environment than compared to lectures or workshops. Because of this, it allows for re-framing of ideas and concepts that can solidify a student's understanding far greater than taking notes from a lecturer.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think I can quite easily adjust to a student's needs and wants regarding what they are learning. Whether it ranges from a younger students initial introduction to linear operations, to calculus of single variables and probability theory in Year 12 Maths.
I also ensure that a student or friend completely understands the process of finding a solution from the beginning, and re-iterating these ideas just as a brush-up if needed.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must be able to not only provide feedback, but also be able to respond to a student that is active in the process of learning.
They must be able to structure learning around the student's difficulties in a topic, and give a pre-determined plan of how they are going to make that student's difficulties a strength.
Because of this, they must be open, understanding and kind, whilst acknowledging the student's weaknesses and strengths.
