What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In the past, I really enjoyed the satisfaction of successfully teaching my friends and siblings a new topic successfully. Knowing the extent to which your assistance makes a difference in anothers schooling career is a very rewarding feeling, as well as the gratitude you receive for your help. It's great to know that your help and time make a difference in somebody else's life.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As I'm a student myself, I know what makes learning new topics difficult. Because of this, I'm able to apply my own experiences to my tutoring lessons and assist others as effectively as possible. Although I've never tutored anyone officially, I've provided multiple friends with ongoing help in maths and science subjects since high school. I've also helped my younger sister a lot for maths, since she was in year 4, and up until year 6. Having 'tutored' people of many different ages, I feel that I can see from multiple perspectives and adapt my way of teaching to best help the student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I really believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be patient towards them and make them feel comfortable to keep asking for help again and again. I once had a tutor for Specialist Methods in Year 11. He would teach very fast and not make sure that I had fully understood the topic. He'd also get very impatient, to the point that I would agree with him when he wanted to move on to the next exercise, without actually learning the current exercise. Having experienced this, I would make sure that my students feel comfortable to ask for more help whenever they need.
