What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy allowing those I'm helping to achieve their goals and to see their interest and excitement grow as their results improve. I want to be a part of the process in allowing them to fulfil their academic goals.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I have good communication skills with both students and parents as a result of my experience working in childcare. I am studying at university with the eventual intention of starting a career as a high school English teacher so tutoring years 7-12 is exactly what I am planning on dedicating my life to and I believe this will serve me well as a tutor. I can understand and identify different learning styles and can do my best to accomodate these differences in each student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to step back wherever they can. Tutoring is not giving all the answers or fixing all the problems, but rather it is about setting the framework for students to learn skills and techniques to solve academic problems themselves. Tutoring is about guidance, as opposed to metaphorically holding a student's hand and leading them through everything - this does not give them a chance to actually learn anything.
