What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I value most about tutoring is being able to pass on the knowledge and skills that I have acquired throughout my own schooling experience, and seeing how that can benefit someone else. The contentment a student feels as they finally understand a difficult concept is also what motivates me to help them excel, by providing valuable tips and tricks which aided me in succeeding in my studies.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Most importantly, I can explain difficult concepts in fairly simple ways (as I have done with peers throughout high school), I am able to connect with students and understand their perspective when approaching harder problems, especially with mathematics, then correct them and demonstrate to them the ways to improve. Also, having attended a high-performing selective school, my high school experience has been of a competitive nature, thus why I understand the high workloads and pressure often imposed on students, which is why I seek to be flexible and cater to their needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that the main purpose of a tutor is not only to guide a student and ensure they fully understand the concepts taught at school, but to go beyond and ensure they know the possible applications of the content, especially for HSC students where the new syllabus changes have brought about more stimulus and skills-based questions in the HSC exams. Ultimately, the focus remains the student; a tutor should always try to address the student's concerns, and provide suggestions as to weaker areas they might want to consider working on.
