What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
Tutoring can be such a rewarding experience for both the tutor and the student and so I enjoy most that my support can assist a student to reach their full potential and go on to even greater things.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
As a tutor, my strengths would be my communication skills and adaptability/relatability with my students. I have honed my communication skills over the years and therefore I would be able to teach my students in an engaging and understanding manner. As a recently graduated student, I understand that every person has a different learning style and I would be able to cater to each studentโs needs and offer them the necessary support and tools.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe a tutor can offer a student so much more that just knowledge; the encouragement of a tutor can unlock a studentโs potential and lead them towards consistent success. Tutoring sessions can make a student feel heard and understood which is so important in a studentโs journey through self discovery in their schooling years.

Jafar has great ideas and this is especially shown in his writing. He continues to show a thorough understanding of different types of graphs and can explain to me how he is able to read the graph. He completed all of his homework for this week.
Jafar needs to be careful of his spelling, the words are there for him copy and learn therefore he shouldn't be making letter mistakes.

Jafar shows a strong ability to construct interesting and detailed sentences. He shows a genuine engagement with reading and this is demonstrated in his ability to answer comprehension questions correctly. He is using dialogue in his writing voluntarily and punctuating correctly which is fantastic to see. He has a thorough understanding of graphs and how to read them and can answer questions with ease.
There were quite a few gaps and blank spaces left in Jafar's homework. Every question for long division was not attempted, it is not good enough for Jafar to say he didn't know how to do it when I am so sure he can.

I can really see the growth in Jafar's mindset and ability to vocalise his thoughts. He can walk me through his working out and the reasoning behind his answer. He has become amazing at 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication and that is because of his hard work! and I know he will do the same with long division.
I still see small mistakes in his work and I know this can be fixed if Jafar spends just a little more time double checking his work and putting more thought into his answer

Jafar consistently shows that he understands and comprehends the texts that he reads. He is able to answer direct questions as well as questions requiring inferences. He shows a genuine excitement with writing creative stories. Jafar has really developed his skill of calculating change and working with money.
Most of the homework set for last week was incomplete. Jafar often states this is because it was "too hard" or he "forgot" how to do it, when I am sure he definitely can do it. When a whole worksheet is completed incorrectly, it can affect the lesson moving forward as we have to review the topic
