What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love helping students feel more confident in mathematics. A lot of students feel that mathematics is something they will understand or never perform as well as they want to. I disagree with this and believe that all students can achieve their goals. Various students require different methods of explanations in order to understand a topic. Tutoring is a chance to provide an extra explanation in addition to their classroom learning. Being able to provide a student with this extra guidance is a rewarding experience and seeing a student become more confident and improve is rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I can develop a strong relationship with my students as I have done so in the past. This relationship allows me to understand their strengths and weaknesses and this helps me to prepare for lessons in a way that focuses on the areas of a topic a student will struggle with to allow them to develop a deep understanding. Drawing connections between a topic a student already understands can help them improve.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things I can do for a student is to improve their confidence and make them feel more comfortable in mathematics. If a student is struggling with mathematics, it is important to begin with building their confidence and showing that everyone can succeed in mathematics even if it seems challenging. If a student is wanting to perform better, then the role of a tutor is to push the student to further enhance their skills and work on problem solving skills to allow them to solve challenging questions.
