What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I remember how when I was studying in primary school and high school, I faced many challenges and obstacles in my studies, despite having tutors and support, I really could not catch up with my work and was going through physical and psychological distress at a young age. Hence, I know accurate and appropriate support and guidance in academics for children, by their teachers and parents are very important. I enjoy tutoring as it allows me to help students who are facing similar difficulties, to be a teacher and a mentor/friend at the same time, giving them the support needed.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths as a tutor would be understanding, as I truly understand what they need and what is best for them as a young student struggling with academics. While understanding them further, I can then easily customise the study plan based on what is most realistic and suitable for them, rather than giving them unrealistic goals which just give them stress and overwhelming feelings. I think my experience in multitasking and organisation would help too, as I will be able to plan work based on upcoming assignments and upcoming content taught, and hence try my best to help them be on track.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think most important things apart from really knowing content well and being confident of your work, is also understanding what the student needs and wants. Every individual is different, and knowing the attitude of the student towards work, their current abilities and expectations will be important. Giving too high expectations is wrong, and unrealistic goals is wrong too. It should be tailored and customised to their current abilities and learning speed, and also being a teacher and approachable friend at the same time.
