What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Currently I work as an Outside School Hours care educator for 3C Kidz Care, and through my employment I have found my passion for mentoring and teaching children. My job has helped me realize that teaching children new games, or even helping them with their school homework has brought me a sense of fulfilment, thus fueling my interest in becoming a tutor. And having tutored my little sister, who's currently in year 10, for years, I have come to realize that empowering children through education and seeing them thrive using the shared knowledge is what I enjoy the most about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to connect with young students, which will enable me to tailor my teaching methods to best meet their needs. I believe that my experience with working with children alongside the fact that I am a recent high school graduate who have experienced the education system and have undergone 10+ years of maths tutoring, will enable me to provide my students with a comfortable environment where they are able to voice their needs to receive the help that they need. This is further assisted by my ability to observe and adopt to new situations.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to build and solidify their foundation on a subject, so that they can continue to use their knowledge of the fundamentals in their future studies. Further, I believe that the most vital part of being a tutor involves improving students' attitude towards the subject and in turn increasing their liking towards it, so that they are able to develop the mindset that will enable them to truly grasp the knowledge, whilst enjoying their learning journey. Ultimately, a tutor should increase their students' confidence on their skills.
