What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love tutoring as its an outlet to keep connected with my love for academics by helping others learn. It means a lot to me that I can make a difference for others learning experiences with my knowledge and help root confidence in areas that interest me. Its meaningful connections that I get to develop with other students, and I love being able to have that interaction. :)
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
A key strength for me as a tutor is that I am able to relate to students as a student myself. I understand that math is a challenging subject, and I am able to recognise areas that are difficult (and were difficult for me during my highschool years) and communicate it in a way digestible for students. I think it is a strength of mine that I can share that experience and help them work through difficult aspects of maths with compassion and understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important aspects is to be patient with the student. Its important to understand that each student is different, and create an environment that is comfortable for them to ask questions without feeling belittled or shunned. It takes great patience to achieve this; its important to go over aspects multiple times if needed, stop and answer questions, wait for their responses, and to do all this without making it feel like they are wasting time. It helps bring confidence, but also helps ensure that the teaching is actually being delivered in the best way for the student :)
