What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The steady growth and achievement students attain as you foster their academic and personal self as you mentor them to strive for the best possible outcomes for themselves is a highly rewarding and satisfying aspect of tutoring. I've also found that tutoring allows for me to improve my leadership and public speaking qualities, and in this capacity tutoring becomes an environment for both myself and the student to attain greater outcomes for both ourselves.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Communication, I'm able to confidently articulate my ideas in order to maximise retention for a student and furthermore be receptive to a students needs. I'm also highly empathetic, and able to discern whether certain learning strategies that are in place for a student are effective for that individual or whether they need to be further tailored in order to maximise a students time with the tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Having an incredible tutor can significantly impact the direction of a students academic and personal wellbeing, and therefore having a supportive and considerate tutor can enable a student to gain confidence in not only their academic studies but personally as they strive towards their own improvement under an encouraging hand. As a tutor, we can provide the tools necessary for a student to thrive towards their personal best, and thus promote a life long capacity for self-confidence that becomes the cornerstone for all endeavours they partake in life.

MATH: Once the strategy behind long division was explained to Artira, he was able to confidently work out complex division problems involving up to 4 digit numbers. He was able to apply division strategies effectively and immediately. ENGLISH: Artira with some guidance was able to come up with a comprehensive plan for his narrative writing, that had a clear beginning, middle and end which gave his writing clear direction. In persuasive writing, he was able to write a strong introductory paragraph to his argument, that used a wide range of sentence structures and vocabulary types giving his writing variety.
MATH: Artira attempted to rush some questions that made his working out messy and difficult to follow, which resulted in minor mistakes that led to the wrong answer. To rectify this, Artira should slow down, and backcheck all his working to ensure he is attaining the correct answer. ENGLISH: Artira struggles to write enough quantity in the time allotment, leading to not enough substance in his argument, particularly within the persuasive style. Artira should always come up with a short plan to give his writing direction, and then begin to write to develop a more consistent writing style.

MATH: Artira is confident with basic perimeter shapes (triangle, square and rectangle). He was able to confidently calculate between proper and improper fractions. He is well-versed in addition, multiplication and simple division. He is easily able to determine number patterns and fill in the blanks as required. ENGLISH: With some encouragement, Artira was able to recite the key ideas of the passage with sound reasoning ability to evidence his answers. He was able to identify most noun, and all adverb groups in a sentence. He was able to confidently articulate the passage aloud back to me, with strong comprehension skills.
MATH: Artira had some difficulty with fraction work, and needed some assistance in understanding questions that involved fractions or ratios. He struggled with complex area shapes, and required additional assistance in this question. ENGLISH: Artira whilst providing the correct answers, was hesitant in his answers and required prompting with key hints to recite the correct answer. His use of vocabulary was sound, but could be expanded. In writing, Artira was unable to write a recount in the allocated time and needs to create a plan to ensure his writing has clear direction. Whilst his writing started off well, he was unable to adequately complete the task, thus more focus should be spent on timed writing. In assessing his language rules, he was unable to identify the adjectives and some of the verbs in the sentence, hence more focus should be put on these foundational skills.
