What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is intrinsic to the role i.e. helping others understand concepts that they previously struggled with. I find great personal satisfaction in the learning process, as slow and arduous as it may be at times. I find similar feelings of satisfaction in tutoring, not only when my students begin to gain a grasp on questions that once frustrated them, but also as I grow as a tutor myself.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Oftentimes, students may feel pressured to move on with content that they don't necessarily understand due to frustration i.e. due to their own frustration how much time has been spent on a particularly difficult topic, or because they are worried that their tutor is personally frustrated at their student's confusion. This is something I personally relate to back when I was high school. As such, I make sure to either provide revision questions, or I ask the student if there is anything particularly confusing or difficult to understand on a frequent basis.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor needs to be able to approach a question in different ways with different techniques. Every students will have different ways of understanding content, and it is crucial that tutors have a flexible teaching style. Tutors need to be able to quickly assess and tailor methods that are most compatible with each student to ensure the content is taught efficiently and effectively.
