What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When I tutored year 11 students this year, I realised I deeply enjoyed teaching others through personalising learning experiences for each student for these reasons:
1) It allows me to establish a meaningful connection with students.
2) I can positively impact the student through their academic progress. I enjoyed each time a peer in Year 11 had an “ahah!†moment where a concept they didn’t understand finally clicked.
I am driven and privileged to support Ezy Math Tutoring’s mission in helping each student reach their potential by sharing the skills I have learnt throughout my HSC journey.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have remained persistent in my academic pursuits during HSC, while balancing my time between prefect duties, my job at McDonald’s, and training for a half-marathon. I was awarded the Chatswood High School “Diligence†award for overall success in my studies.
In my spare time, I have enjoyed learning about computing. I have programmed an AI chatbot, smart contract in Solidity, traffic simulator, audio-based spelling game, and a terminal game.
I believe my dedication and curiosity to learn can enhance the efficiency of my teaching and improve the overall learning experience for the students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I consider a successful tutor to shape a student’s perspective towards education, and hence their schoolwork, to be a positive and enriching experience. In successful teaching, I believe the tutor should:
1) build a strong and personal relationship with the student;
2) listen and effectively communicate with the tutee, and their parents and teachers if necessary;
3) engage the student during lessons with the tutor’s specific knowledge through real-life application or relevance of the content;
4) adapt to the changing needs of the tutee as their problem-solving skills enhance and needs change.
