What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really enjoy it when a tough concept or solution finally clicks for a student. It pleasures me to know that I am building a students confidence, and helping them develop independence in learning. Ultimately, the biggest joy comes from when a student is finally inspired to study for the sake of curiosity, rather than for the sake of passing exams.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a recent graduate from the University of Melbourne majoring in Mathematics, I fully sympathise with all the ways students struggle learning Mathematics. When students are discouraged by difficult problems and start to feel frustrated, I understand. When students feel demotivated to do homework, I understand. When students receive a dissapointly low mark, I understand. I ensure I provide as much emotional support as I can to encourage them to face the challenges of high-school mathematics.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a mathematics major, I understand the best way for students to learn is for them to actively solve problems themselves. I also understand when students feel discouraged by difficult problems and feeling frustrated. Hence, I carefully observe my students, guide them towards solutions with subtle hints and thought-provoking questions, rather than directly solving the problem for them.

I could possibly figure out the student's level of understanding earlier and make the lesson plan more personalised.
