What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I've found the best part of teaching students is watching them progress as both human beings and students, and seeing them succeed. You become invested in their lives and you almost treat them as your own children. You want what's best for them and you want to help them achieve that more than anything. Something else that also stands out for me is that no child is the same. I'm continually being challenged as a teacher and reminded of this every lesson.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths would be that I was once one of those petty children who hated my teachers and thought being cool meant not doing my homework, getting detentions, etc. In essence, I didn't really care about my grades until Yr 9 when I won overall 1st place in Standard English. From there, I saw my potential and I started pushing myself, and I think it's this background that allows me to relate to most children and just be real with them. That's something that's always appealed to me as a student and I truly believe would make me a good tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is encourage a positive culture of wanting to learn and evoking a love of education. This allows students to go beyond the classroom and achieve their best.
