What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I get a lot out of inspiring people younger than me to improve, and to be better than they already are. I feel that i can connect with students very well, allowing me to create personalised and specific lessons with relation to that students ambitions. I believe that every person is capable of great things, and proper guidance can be the key to their success. Even while teaching skiing, i would always try to get to know my students, and to motivate them towards improvement on both a physical (skiing) and mental (belief) level - ensuring that belief in oneself is made the priority.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths to lie mainly with my ability to be present with each student, and to treat them like an individual rather than a collective. I have a lot of experience as a teacher of large classes, and always ensure that I allow time to get to know each student personally. To understand a students interests is to gain access to their imagination, which is, in my view, the key to success.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that a good teacher will prioritise the mindset of their student(s) before attempting to actually teach them anything. To enter the flow state prior to gaining knowledge is, in my view, of utmost importance. A tutor should find a way to ensure that their student is enjoying the learning experience. One example is, rather than explaining what a normal distribution curve is, get the student to find real world data (i.e. the number of times a coin toss returns heads out of 40 flips, and repeat 30 times), and ask them to graph it. Show the student what exactly a bell curve shape is.
