What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I’ve heard teachers I admire call it the “lightbulb momentâ€. I love teaching something and have someone understand it and be like “OHHHHH†and then be able to tackle the problem themselves after. Seeing someone progress and understand a topic, especially a challenging one, is so rewarding for me and something that motivates me to continue helping where I can.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths lie in being able to understand what the student is having difficulty understanding and hence why they're have trouble. I'm very good at explaining a concept from the very roots of it, as basic and elementary as it needs to be sometimes, to ensure the student understands the full picture. I believe teaching someone the understanding and concepts behind the way something works is more important than just being able to apply it without understanding where it comes from.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can for their student is be specific to the needs to the student and not to work generally. The tutor needs to be able to connect and understand/ask what the student needs from them and create a comfortable space where the student can then ask for help when they need it. A tutor should also be confident in what they teach and not teach the student something they're not 100% confident in. No one is perfect and the tutor should be able to replicate the need for help at times to the student.

he needs improvement in his confidence because he gets easily frustrated when he gets little things wrong even though the harder stuff he's doing well. also needs to pay attention to positives and negatives
we worked through all the homework questions, he's starting to understand each of the methods and can do it well he just needs a bit more confidence
