What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I think seeing people understand or feel proud of themselves when they get a question they find hard right. I understand how it is like to struggle with understanding new topics and people give up on doing maths because they get frustrated. This is only the reason because they have no help, and i want to be that person for them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths would be that i really care about making the person or student feel like they are not stupid or bad at maths when not being able to do a maths question. There is a common social stigma or hierarchy when it comes to maths, where students like to put down people worse than them at maths. Seeing this, i want the student to feel comfortable and have courage enough to believe in themselves even if they are not the smartest.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is give a student confidence. Approaching the end of the year as a year 12 student, i learnt a lot of lessons, concluding that i need to believe in myself. During the year, i sat a SAC and i completely froze out of nervousness and fear that i wasn't going to do well, when in reality, it all doesn't matter too much in the end and if i could go back in time i would tell myself to relax. I think maths takes a lot of emotional and mental strength and i think i have general advice and tips to keep students sane whilst studying maths.
