What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I believe tutoring allows a safe environment for students who have trouble or wish to exceed beyond their academic capabilities. As a tutor I believe it's a rewarding chance to aid these students in achieving their max potential so they're confident in their school work. From a personal scope, I attended a tutoring centre during my primary and high school years that allowed me to be ahead of students in class and be confident in engaging in class discussions. In this, I believe as a tutor I can support my students in any difficulties they have by breaking down problems together.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

From being a peer mentor that allowed me to gain both a leadership role and collaborative experience I believe my strengths include: - Patience in working through a problem - Enthusiasm both during working hours and out. (Helping students if they have questions outside sessions) - Communication by showing interest in the student outside of just the work so they feel more comfortable. - Empathy in where they have frustrations in their work - Flexibility in when the student is free for sessions - Acting in a professional and respectful manner no matter the situation

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is allow them to feel secure and not shy to voice their doubts. As a student I found that reaching out when I was unsure could be difficult because I felt I was the only one who didn't understand a certain concept. Hence, providing the student with an outlet to be open and honest in what areas they are unsure with and working through it is inevitable important. This would include forming a comfortable relationship with the student and trying out trial questions to test for strengths and weakenesses.
