The best thing a tutor can do for a student is instilling his or her passion for learning. I had a teacher in high school who did this for me. He was a young guy who taught Maths. He had a really interesting life and would tell us all about his funny adventures. He prepared interesting and thought provoking lessons that challenged our thinking. Furthermore, he treated us with honesty & straightforwardness in his classroom which made us feel respected.
