What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

One of my favourite things as a tutor is the process of giving people a new level of confidence in their academic studies, there tends to be a level of fear for subjects or topics any student struggles with. This is especially problematic as the nervousness can lead to further struggles and clashes with academics as a whole. However, when someone teaches the topic in a manner that is understandable this can lead to a snowball effect where their confidence in one topic or question leads to a gain in all academic fields.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strength as a tutor mainly lies in simplifying a topic down to very bare-bone levels to allow the student to gain confidence in the topic before moving on to harder examples, focusing on allowing the students to reach the answer on their own rather than giving and explaining the answer. This is accompanied by giving the basis and reasoning for any formulae or literary advice, which allows people to have a deeper understanding of the topic rather than a rote learning methodology.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The biggest part of tutoring is adjusting to the various communication styles of each student, when students rely on visuals to understand a topic, the tutor needs to present graphs or sketches to exemplify formulas in a more visual manner when students prefer to learn using examples the topic needs to be translated into more tangible manners. This is especially true for people with differing academic confidence and ability, where people who have previously struggled with a topic should be taught more methodically whereas 'gifted' students should be shown the topic in more complex forms.
