What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Connecting with the other person as they learn about a subject that I am passionate about. I could spend days at doing mathematics and physics exercises/problems just for the fun of it. I have even more fun when I get to teach someone about it. It feels very satisfying.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have a lot patience and empathy. I always try to understand what my student is thinking about. Getting to know a student allows me to figure out the best way to teach him about a determined subject.
I am hardworking and humble. If there is a subject I can't recall or simply don't know about, I am keen to learn about it as fast as I can. That way I able to then transmit the knowledge to my student.
I am very friendly and approachable. I have the feeling that students are not afraid to ask me "dumb" questions (no such thing exists).
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Listen - to what the student has to say. When someone gets to explain a topic, I know they are confident about what they learned. It also allows me to see if they truly got to grasp the subject.
Watch - the student's body language. It gives away so much on how they are feeling about a topic. It allows you to gauge if they really are understanding, if they feel comfortable during the session and many other hints that may lead me into changing the approach of the tutory.
Feedback - Letting him know what he got right and wrong leads to growth.
