What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I began my search for passion when I was about 13. During my first year in under graduation, I tried tutoring for the first time and I loved it immediately. I have been tutoring for four years now, and I can say that I have found my passion.
The thing that I love about tutoring is that there is always something new to learn, be it questions from students or me trying to find an alternative easy way to deliver a concept. And there is always scope to improve in tutoring. Being inquisitive, I find tutoring to be a job that gives me satisfaction.
Besides, just like any other high schooler, I have
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My methods of teaching are unique and involve deep conceptual thinking and application in problem-solving. I make sure that the concepts taught are not just for the sake of examination and ensure that the students can apply them in real life. My inspiration for teaching is Dr Walter Lewin. Thus, I try to emulate him and make learning as fun as possible.
Besides teaching, I have also been involved in the process of recruiting teachers. I was able to do it with my experience and also due to a clear understanding of the factors that distinguish a good teacher from a great teacher.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student from my experience is to have an emotional connection. I feel it is not just about delivering a lecture. A tutor must understand and respect a student’s thought process.
For instance, during my second year of tutoring, I had this exceptionally smart student. But his grades rarely reflected his abilities. So, I had a long chat with him, and he started opening up. I understood his problems and I was able to give him solutions. He started improving and finally he secured admissions to one of the most reputed colleges in India.
