What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy helping people get to a point of genuinely understanding a topic, so that they can confidently answer questions with the knowledge of what has been asked, and how it can be methodically solved. I also enjoy the challenge of coming up with new ways to explain a concept if it is not making sense, and further developing my own knowledge when I am assisting the person with specific questions that I may not have seen before in the same context.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think that my greatest strengths as a tutor are that I am organised and methodical in my thinking and problem solving, which usually allows me to explain concepts and formulas in a manner that is clear and easy to comprehend. I also understand that everyone thinks and learns in different ways, and I enjoy the challenge of articulating and explaining things in different ways until it can be genuinely understood.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Other than helping a student genuinely understand the content in their course, I think that the most important thing a tutor can do for them is to help them in developing and implementing strategies to allow them to become independently successful. This may mean developing a better organisational process, implementing a system for completing tasks on time, practicing more effective study techniques, etc. I think that anything that contributes to making the student more confident and in control of their own learning is always going to be the most beneficial thing that a tutor can do.
