What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really enjoy the witnessing my students experience a moment of relief after finally understanding a concept that were they were perhaps not able to comprehend. It makes me very content to see them embrace their weaknesses and overcome them in a persistent manner, whereby they are motivated to attend my tutoring sessions, ask questions and connect with me, enabling them to talk with ease and share their challenges. I also love teaching concepts that I am familiar with, because it not only helps my students, but also helps me in reinforcing those ideas into my head, and hence feel confident.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe it is essential for the tutor to be fluent in the topics they are teaching, and I am exactly that as I have been applying the concepts learnt in my class in my everyday life, whether it be after eating a meal and thinking about the work my body is doing to digest that food or reflecting about the impact of driving my car on the increase of CO2 emissions and global warming! Additionally, I also believe that I am non judgmental, patient, have a strong desire to help and really enthusiastic about learning!

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think an essential thing a tutor can do for their student is be empathetic! Often, for teachers, its hard to understand what students are feeling, since school and lifestyle has changed from the time they were students to now (in a global pandemic). Therefore, being an tutor who displays empathy about understanding what its like being a student in the current world, feeling stressed, and lacking confidence, students can better connect with their tutor, helping establish a strong and trustful bond and connection.
