What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As someone who loves learning, i view tutoring as a vessel to share a passion with my students. Having only tutored informally before this, I have found an amazing moment where information and technique click and students can find a new way to approach problems they thought before were insurmountable. For me that moment is the most enjoyable part of tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have strong communication skills, and a great empathy for people. These are attributes i have exercised previously in a number of professional roles, whether that be informal tutoring, ski instructing, medical receptionist or theatre porter.
This may sound cheesy... However i view myself as a continuous learner having received both a Batchelor of Science and Graduate Diploma in Remote Health Practice, prior to commencing a Doctor of Medicine in 2024. I have chosen and enjoyed this path through a love for learning and teaching; which I hope to share with students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important role of the tutor is to analyse and reflect on a student's learning and problem-solving approach methods, in order to provide meaningful adjustments for greater comfort and confidence going forward. In other words, the identification of barriers to learning is the most crucial point of a tutor's action, as it is the intimate nature of personal tutoring that allows for this analysis to occur.
