What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love being able to help students overcome the challenges they share with me because I can observe how they become more confident at what they learn and eventually see them realise why they found certain problems difficult. That tells me I have done my job well and it makes me feel grateful to be a tutor when students enjoy learning something new from obstacles they face, which in turn makes me more confident in tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am very patient with students and if I see they are struggling with something, whether it is about their subject or their study habits in general, I am happy to take a step back and explain how to tackle the more fundamental problems I see them facing. As a recent university student myself, high school knowledge is still quite fresh to me and I can help high school students with the relatable experiences I have.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should be able to understand how they can help a student and should teach content or provide help in a way that suits their student's learning style. This would ensure that students are able to learn easier and with less stress. Students should not just be taught what to learn but also how to learn depending on the topic learnt, since it helps them use study techniques which they can use across other subjects they have and help improve on their studies overall.

Gavin was very focused throughout the lesson and understood the difference between indefinite and definite integrals. He recognised patterns in how to integrate different polynomials.
Internet connection problems disrupted the flow of the lesson as Gavin had to leave and re-enter the Zoom meeting, which also meant time was wasted. Since this lesson gave an introduction to anti-differentiation, Gavin has not fully understood the basics yet.
Gavin understood how translations can affect graphs in general and their function definition. He understood how matrices can be used to define transformations.
