What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In highschool, I found that many people came to me for help especially in maths and the sciences, and I found that I enjoyed breaking down the concept and taking the time to allow them to understand. The best part was when they finally understood, and they were able to do other questions without help. I also believe that education is freedom, and knowing more about the world around you has such a powerful influence on the way you perceive life. In this way, when I explain concepts, I try to not be limited by the syllabus, but to fully enjoy the experience of learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I first started the Biology study group, because my teacher saw that I was a leader and was very organised. This would be beneficial in tutoring, as I also think ahead, and come prepared for my classes. I also love working with people and am patient and compassionate to understand when people are struggling and to not force difficult concepts on them, but to take it slow, and allow them to succeed. And because I love learning so much, I will bring that same enthusiasm, by relating the concepts to the wider world.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that all providers of education should not only prepare a student for an exam, but to open the student's eyes to the wider world, where they can explore their passions. In this way, I consider confidence an important aspect that a tutor can provide to a student. School can sometimes feel so impossible, when sitting in a large classroom with one overworked teacher, and so a tutor can provide that extra personal support, so the student can individually excel. That will provide confidence in the student, allowing them to reach their potential.
