What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The idea that I can earn money whilst helping mould the minds of young people is the most enticing thing about this job. I love helping people and to be able to help those in fields that I love and adore so much is incredible. I had many tutors when I was going through school and they were so helpful and kind. Without them, I would not have done nearly as well as I did. Not only can I help people read, write and count, those that I teach will help me to become a better educator, through experience and their personal attributes.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm a great listener. I can really analyse pieces of writing and what people say to get to the bottom of what they truely want to say/what they want to express in their writing. I'm extremely well read, patient and get along with all ages. I'm easy going and really love what I do.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Help them learn in a different way! Help them see things from a different perspective! As a Queer non-binary writer, I can introduce them to new thoughts and ideas around certain traditional aspects of writing and reading.
What I want is for my students to walk away with even more understanding of their certain topic/study area and that they want to pursue study, as they enjoy it (now understanding what it means etc.)
With Mathematics, it's all about practice, repetition and learning the rules.

Big improvement in confidence when it came to times tables and her overall understanding of how to calculate mass and the difference in time when given formulas/hints.
Will go over time in next lesson to cover all bases and the recognition of mass/volume/area and what formulas to use
Area: working forward and backwards to determine a^2 was easy for her and she was eager to engage in Volume formulas
Area: working forward and backwards to determine a^2 was easy for her and she was eager to engage in Volume formulas
the formulas of area and volume need a bit of work (determining a^2 vs a^3) but still good progress!! Will go over them again next week to try and cement the area of triangle + Lengthxwidthxheight formulas.
Her understanding of shapes (triangles, rhombus etc) and the time questions. Was not scared of the small bit of algebra I introduced.
