What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is certainly rewarding to see a student finally understand a concept they have been struggling with my help. It also seems like a meaningful way to contribute to the community, by helping our students get the most out of their formal education.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I can explain difficult concepts in multiple ways depending on each student's strength. I also understand the importance of knowing the basics and this often also helps students in understanding more difficult concepts. I am incredibly patient and know what it's like to not being able to understand a concept and am quite empathetic and easy to approach.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should listen to their students and figure out what exactly it is they are struggling with. It can be quite frustrating for students when their teachers or tutors start prematurely answering a question they did not ask. It is tempting to expect teachers to just give an answer, however, there is a lot of value in knowing how to tackle a problem you are unsure about and knowing where to look to find help. Tutors should teach their students the valuable skill of how to address and begin answering a style of the question even when they may not immediately be sure of the concept.
