What do I enjoy most about tutoring? šŸ˜

Firstly, I really enjoyed the texts and work that I did last year and I think continuing to learn and grow in English is something that is personally good for my own academic future but also something that I find rewarding. I also think that the personal element of interacting and discussing content with students gives me a personal validation that Iā€™m actively making a positive difference in my students lives and wellbeing. Also I find jobs that allow me to foster personal relationships with clients makes me find the experience more enjoyable.

My Strengths as Tutor šŸ’Ŗ

Firstly, I think Iā€™m fairly knowledgeable in the subject areas that I teach, and can bring an enthusiasm to each and every class that I take. I have a significant amount of personal resources and critical readings for most texts that I can bring because of this. Moreover It makes me happy to work harder and give more resources and feedback to students. Additionally, I love the communication element of teaching, which Iā€™ve practiced over the last 8 years through debating and public speaking, which I think helps me break down complicated subject matter into easily digestible information.

Most important things I can do for a student šŸ…

I think the most important facet is personalising lesson plans and taking time to understand the main shortcomings of each individual student. Being able to have open conversations and earn students trust to offer constructive feedback that extends outside the lesson - e.g dealing with mental stress and study regimes - can be far more important to the learning experience than just rote learning content. It also helps develop more personalised teaching experiences such as if students prefer literary, auditory, interactive or visual learning styles, to make information sink in more easily
