My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are that I can communicate concepts effectively from first principles and get to student to be able to tackle problems by understanding the methods rather than needless memorisation. When I began tutoring, I would go into great depth to give the student background and derivation principles on formulas and realised this may have been overwhelming. To rectify this, I let the student take on the problems first to see what they see as their particular weakness and so I can identify how to target that area more specifically with them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

To instill problem solving skills which they can carry with them into the future. To not be intimidated by problems and be able to break them down into simple steps To understand the relevance and importance of mathematics rather than feel burdened by something they feel they must simply get through.
