My favourite thing about tutoring is watching the students grow and helping them to achieve this growth. It is extremely rewarding when a student experiences notable changes in their academic results and is able to achieve their schooling goals. I believe I will make a great tutor because of my ability to form meaningful connections with others as I think when the students are able to relate to me they will be more engaged in the lesson. From working with primary school kids at OOSH to helping my peers and friends during high school, I have gained experience with a wide variety of students and a sharp understanding of the diverse needs and wants of children. I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to recognise that all kids are different with unique skills and needs. This means adopting a personalised approach to tutoring wherein the tutor employs teaching methods and materials that are best suited to the individual child.
