What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy watching the transformation that takes place when one begins to understand their full potential; the confidence-building of an individual and just being able to watch a maturation process of self-trust.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think my strengths as a tutor are having lasting patience and a positive mindset whilst teaching. I also believe my own experiences as a tutored student will shape the way I communicate and deliver my expectations to a student: that mistakes are a normal part of a learning curve, how students also need to put in their own work (efforts combined will show the greatest outcome) and to empathetically assist them in their studies.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Understanding each students' specific needs and the different ways they learn, as well as approaching with a positive attitude whilst assisting their learning - not putting students down if questions were incorrectly done (projecting your own emotions; anger, frustration outwards), or if they didn't do as well on an exam.
Ultimately, the most important things tutors and mentors can do for students would be offering them a role model-like figure who encourages their learning experience, as well as the need for students to also put in the effort to succeed.
