What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I am especially interested in mentoring students with the skills I have picked up in my high school academic life. I enjoy helping people realise their own potential in something they are not confident in or if they are I enjoy helping them to refine their skills. It is also a good feeling to know that you have helped someone grasp a new concept that they can go on to master. Additionally, tutoring is a good way to consolidate my own learning skills.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My best strengths would be my problem solving, communication and organisation skills. Being good at problem solving allows me to take a logical and analytical approach to solving problems and resolving issues. It also lets me consider different angles when helping students with difficulties in understanding a particular concept. I am also confident in my communication abilities in conveying information and being able to listen to others to work constructively. Listening skills are especially important and I know that I can use them to narrow down key areas of which students have issues with.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe providing a sense of mentorship to students is beneficial in both their academic and other areas in life. In my personal experience my maths tutor was the single most inspirational person to me during my high school life and I would like to be similar for my students. Having a likeminded former student who was very passionate about teaching and pushing me to achieve mastery lead to great results but more importantly a sense of confidence in the subject. It also helped me to adopt a 'can do' attitude towards other subjects like english where I struggled but pushed to improve myself.
