What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love tutoring because it allows me to share my knowledge and help other students to improve theirs. I like being able to work through problems with others and find a solution so that they truly understand the process and can replicate it. Tutoring should provide each student with a personalized learning experience that works for them, which is something they may not be able to receive from a school teacher.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think patience and adaptability are important qualities to have as a tutor and these are qualities that I possess. If a student doesn't understand a concept, it is important to stay collected and patient with them rather than becoming noticeably agitated, which can be very discouraging. In addition to this, being adaptable to different situations and different students' style of learning is important. By thinking of multiple ways of explaining a concept, I would able to help many different students as learning should be catered to how the students can learn the information the best.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to improve their confidence and help them to reach their full potential. In subjects such as math, where continuous practice and thought is necessary, the confidence of the student is very important to their success. Many students become discouraged as they believe they are bad at the subject and many think they cant improve. As a tutor, I would focus on building the confidence of students as well as improving their skills, which will allow them to succeed beyond what they expect and reach their full potential.
