What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love being able to help people when they need it and then seeing the improvement which you helped to create. I am also wanting to be a maths teacher when I am older so this would be an amazing experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think because I also somewhat struggled with certain concepts I know that not everyone understands things in the same way. This helps when needing to tutor someone as you might need many different ways to teach one concept.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing is not to do the questions for them but to guide them as they do them so that in the future they will be able to do them by themselves. Giving certain little tricks and clues to help them remember certain things as well can be good as it will help them to remember certain concepts.

- This is my last lesson with this student and over the course of the weeks I have tutoring her she has really improved.
- She was writing down all her steps and showing her working which meant I could see where she was going well. - In the end, she was starting to understand more

- She was confusing the orders of her numbers (eg. though 130 was 103 and 300-500=200 instead of 500-300)

- When explaining what division was, she started to understand the concepts as we developed through questions. - When working with counters she was able to answer the second half of the questions with out a lot of help.
- WIthout counters, she still tends to struggle with how to solve the questions. - Remaining focused for more than 1 question at a time.
- I learnt that she is a practical learner so the use of counters and features of mathletics seems to help her understand.

- I realised that she is having difficulties with the concepts being subtraction as well as division. (I used counters to get it across which she started to understand but there still needs a level of understanding in order to move to bigger numbers.
