What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the pride in students when something clicks in their heads. I adore it when kids finally understand or can do something that previously was proving difficult to them. My old tutors used to call these "Ahh" moments, and it was only when I started tutoring myself that I truly understood its wonder.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
When I was in school, I struggled to keep up with my peers. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and am no stranger to tutors and workshops throughout my early education. Whether it was to strengthen executive functions or help with sentence structuring, I am well accustomed to what it is like for children to require extra help. I would consider my experience and understanding of struggle to be my greatest strength as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is allow them to learn. I have seen cases where tutors sit there and answer the student once they get stuck, which I consider detrimental to the child's learning. I recognize the importance of facilitating learning by guiding students rather than just answering their work for them.
