What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
To me the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring is inspiring students to engage with course content such that they ultimately accomplish an understanding and appreciation of the theory. Students often approach learning with an apathetic attitude, where I gain extreme satisfaction in motivating students to approach their studies with interest and confidence by delivering learning material with passion, comprehensiveness and an understanding that different students possess different learning modes and capabilities.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths as a tutor can be described as follows:
- a penchant for precision and accuracy in describing course content
- empathy for student capabilities and circumstances, where I believe no two students are the same and an adaptable approach is vital
- applying theory to enhance students' understanding, where I believe providing practical examples of theory application is important to convey the context and relevance of theory
- excellent communication skills
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that it is a tutor's responsibility to be accountable for a student's academic performance. As such, the most important things a tutor can do for a student are:
- maintaining a flexible teaching approach to tailor a student's study to their capabilities, learning style and circumstances
- encouraging and inspiring engagement with the material, such that student learning is enhanced and more proactive
- accommodating demonstratable progress to build a student's confidence and reassure them that they can succeed
- conveying friendliness and approachability
