What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy sparking interest in the subject for the students and making the subject more enjoyable for them, instead of it just being an examinable subject. Having gone through a rigorous educational system in Singapore, I understand the dread and stress students have to go through as they face their examinations. Hence, as a tutor, I also want to be someone who can help to ease these burdens for my student by providing them with tips and tricks to approach the subject.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think I always try to understand from the student's perspective because I think as a tutor, it is very important to listen to your student and understand what their concerns are and where they're coming from. I think I'm a good listener and being able to understand my students help me to develop an approach for their learning. Hence, making my teaching customised for each student.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Fundamentally, a tutor must be competent academically to answer the student question. Secondly, I think a tutor must be responsible for the student learning and have the passion to ensure that each lesson is time well-spent and that the student would be able to learn something from each lesson. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money for the student's parents as well. Lastly, I think a tutor must have a tailored approach for teaching each student instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach in teaching different students because that loses the purpose of a private tutor.
