What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have a passion for teaching and motivating students to reach their full potential. I believe in supporting all students from different socioeconomic backgrounds and students who require additional needs so that they too can be on the same playing field. I enjoy guiding learners to success. I apply humour and praise in my teaching so that I can have an interesting and fun lesson for the students and myself. I love teaching a variety of subjects and coming from a diverse educational background enables me to realise that goal.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Having taught high school students in Adelaide across Year 7 to Year 11 as well as tutoring primary school students, I have developed my adaptability and resilience in teaching a wide selection of students. I am proficient in supporting students who have additional needs such as ESL students, hearing disabilities, behavioural problems, ADHD and many others at schools during placements. I have enacted patience and promoted a positive learning environment to bring about learning and student growth. I effectively designed well-structured lesson plans conducive with encouraging learning.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Bridging the gap between teaching and learning via checking for understanding, scaffolding and adhering to teaching standards and quality teaching frameworks. Developing trusted relationships aids in knowing the students and how to teach them. Motivate learners by playing to their strengths while continuously working on their weaknesses via rigorous support. This is also crucial in behavioural management where trust with students and relationship with families can keep learners on track and also identify and address extended needs. Making learning enjoyable and inspiring students is key.
