What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the satisfaction of being able to explain a concept, idea clearly. I enjoy learning and often I find that the best part about tutoring or mentoring students of any age is being able to engage with them and their desire to achieve their goals. Furthermore it is often the questions and curiosity of the students which I am tutoring which makes the process so interesting, I love seeing the growth in confidence within any student as they begin to develop new skills or fix foundational errors in their understanding. I enjoy seeing my students feel empowered to achieve their goals.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My greatest strength as a tutor is that I was once a struggling student myself. I am aware of the dedication it takes as a teacher to enable students to understand new concepts. I have a lot of experience for my age in tutoring children, I have been doing it informally and as a volunteer for over 3 years, and I believe that the skills which I have developed such as the importance of engaging students in content as well as recognising the individuality of each students progression and growth. As a tutor I understand that every student may require a unique approach to learning.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe that the most important thing which a tutor can do for a student is providing support, encouragement as well as most importantly building confidence within the subject. The importance of constructing a Childs esteem and sense of accomplishment within a subject is often disregarded however the effect of doing so is transformative within the learning process. As a tutor I have realised that often patience, and a comfortable environment can make a drastic difference to the growth of a student. Supporting a student within a subject requires more than just content.
