What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is that I love to see every student's progression whether that is academically or the way they changed their learning habit. You often see kids struggle or even hate a subject and this is because they don't excel in it or are not taught well in it. During my tutoring experience, I try to make the topic more fun and easier to learn and I could definitely see improvement in the student's mindset of learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am very patient with the students I work with. During my experience, I understand that everyone works at different paces and that I don't mind it at all! I am the type of person where I don't rush or force students to understand it off the bat. I will often take my time explaining the concept through until a student understands it because most of the time in school, teachers have a set date where they need to cover a certain topic by a certain week and this does have an effect on the way students are understanding the topic.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to always be there for them. As teachers/tutors, it is not all about educating them in core subjects but being there for them through rough times. We have all experienced what it is like to be a student and sometimes they go through some difficult situations and I believe that we need to be there for them when they need that extra support along the way of their journey through high school.

Joseph successfully solve three to four digit addition questions utilising house method. He also was able to comprehend the two digit subtraction questions with a little bit of help. Also, was able to do number patterns in his booklet with no trouble. He also was able to utilise his knowledge on odds and even numbers to answer questions relating to this theory.
Joseph needs to check over the number patterns to see if its a constant pattern such as 0,5,10,15 or if its a weird number pattern such as 0,5,3,8. Subtraction with large numbers- not being able to regroup. Joseph sometimes gets confused where to place the numbers in the right column (tenths, ones etc.) when solving. Also, with solving the subtraction questions, he tends to try to calculate it in his head which is a good thing. However, I see that he was struggling a bit and doesn't want to use the resources available. I know that he wants to solve the subtraction questions as he did very well with the addition questions but for now, I think that we need to utilise the materials in the next couple lessons until he gets familiar and understands the fundamentals of subtraction as he was just guessing numbers after a few times. Briefly looked at multiplication and division questions in today's lesson and will need to work on it on next lesson to be able to understand the fundamentals. Overall, a great achievement today and most of the improvement points listed above are minors or something he hasn't worked on for a long which we can fix with future lessons and I believe he will be able to understand it very well!
