What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The satisfaction I get from realising that I was able to improve a student's performance is an empowering feeling. Being able to use the experience that I have amassed over the past few years in a positive way to help someone else is a great way to practice my own skills while fostering the skills of another person. The satisfaction derived from the success of a student leads to renewed energy to invest further into the education of more students. I believe that this satisfaction and the ensuing chain reaction is a great feeling that is facilitated by tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I pride myself on being a great listener and observer. This allows me to gauge each student based on their merits and weaknesses. On doing so, I can tutor each student based on their individual needs and learning styles, therefore allowing them to attain success in their respective academic field. I also believe that communication and collaboration with the student is important to set mutual expectations. This way, the relationship between the tutor and the student is healthy and this allows the tutor and student to create a connection that will allow the latter's deficiencies to be addressed.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think that the tutor acts as a mentor for the student. In this role, the tutor should encourage the students to think critically in order to find answers to their questions. By providing the means to discover the answers for themselves, the tutor ensures that the student does not merely address the 'what' of the question but is also able to understand the 'how' behind an answer. This way, the student is able to consolidate knowledge by understanding it from their own perspective and then apply similar techniques to a wide variety of problems in the future, thereby supporting independence.
