What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I think that tutoring, like teaching, is very rewarding. It is wonderful to see a student gaining confidence and making progress in an area they find tricky. I really enjoy getting to know a student and trying to figure out a way of teaching that is best suited to their needs. I also enjoy planning fun and exciting activities to ensure that the learning process is active and enjoyable for them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think that my greatest strength as a tutor and teacher is patience. I am very calm throughout the learning process to ensure the student gets enough thinking time and to avoid frustration and anxiety. Another strength I see in my tutoring/teaching is that I always take time to get to know the student. This allows me to plan work that relates to their likes and interests while also accommodating their learning needs. I am hard-working and extremely passionate about teaching and learning, so I will always give 100% in everything I do.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I consider the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them develop confidence. Students can often be reluctant to try when they are lacking in confidence. Tutors should foster a positive, can-do attitude from the beginning which encourages and enables students. It is also important that a tutor focuses on the student’s strengths and abilities rather than their weaknesses and needs. This helps the student to realise that they are good at many things and takes the spotlight away from their learning needs.
