If a student is more visual or kin-aesthetic in their learning, then I'll more than happily shape my tutoring to accommodate that. Help them understand the core of what they're doing and why. I think this because I believe that just understanding the surface of what you are doing will never truly teach you why you are doing it, which makes it more forgettable.
