What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy connecting with my students, and discovering how they learn and how I can best teach them subjects they are struggling with. I find it very rewarding when I can discover the right way to explain a concept, so that it 'breaks through the wall', and they can finally understand something they have been struggling with.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength is in my ability to appeal to the strengths of the student. I am aware that people can learn in a variety of ways, and my flexibility allows me to change my tutoring methods to suite the particular learning style of the student.
For example, one of my previous students was an extremely visual learner struggling with mathematics. So rather than explaining a concept to her, I would draw each step in solving a particular equation, constantly checking her understanding along the way. She found this far easier to understand, and her grades improved exponentially.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is give the student confidence in their own abilities. Whether this is through elevating their grades, or giving them the framework to better understand what they are being taught in the classroom, the tutor should be able to see the students gaining an ability to work more and more independently, with the tutor there to correct mistake and guide learning.
