What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy giving students the insight into what they are struggling with. Helping out students while letting them figure things out for themselves is very rewarding to me and I very much enjoy being able to assist them while also challenging them to discover something new and build their problem solving abilities.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My biggest strengths as a tutor are my personality and experience. I am always happy to help out others and have friendly and constructive discussions about problems others are facing. While I am quite shy in my demeanor, I always enjoy getting to know others and helping them out the best I can. I had to try hard to understand concepts and put them into practice, so I had many different study methods as I learnt. This gives me a lot of insight into where students may be going wrong and what the best way of helping them may be.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for their students is to support them in their way of learning while also offering alternative study methods that may help them to better understand a concept. By doing this, a tutor can assist the student the best they can while also challenging the student to try something new and different and expand their problem solving knowledge. I also strongly believe that a tutor should always encourage students to try their hardest and offer constructive criticism so the student can learn from their mistakes as they make them.

You have taken tutoring fabulously over the past few months, Reeve! Today proved that you are very capable of handling harder maths topics with ease using everything you have learnt. As I said before, I was feeling a bit useless today! That is truly a result of your hard work and determination during our lessons. I wish you all the best with your future learning!
Nothing of concern! I am very happy with the progress you have made Reeve. You even have the confidence to point out some mistakes I make! It shows that you’re applying everything you’ve learnt over the past few months and the results are fantastic!

Good job on your test, Hunter. 60% may not be the result you were aiming for but to get in the high 90’s for the non-calc is pretty impressive! I think you should take a mini ‘operations manual’ written in your notes for your next test so you don’t have to try and memorise or even worse forget in the adrenaline of the test how to use your calc!
I think you were a little distracted today, Hunter. I know it’s hard to find motivation after a test and a holiday but we have to keep pushing through in these sessions.

I was incredibly impressed and proud of your use of pen to paper today Reeve! It is so enlightening for me to see you using some of the techniques we discuss during our sessions without me even suggesting them. This shows that you have built a proper understanding of how to seek the answers you desire with the tools you have. Incredibly well done!

Good and frequent use of back checking which is helping you realise where you have gone wrong. Well done!

Try a bit harder to stay focused on the question and understand what you are doing prior to trying to solve the question.
