What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love seeing students get passionate and encouraged about their subject. Being a teacher it is always rewarding see your students progress and begin to understand the subject better. I love being that small push or that small tool that they need to exceed. Also, the reason I became a teacher was to mentor and help students not only academically but also emotionally as well.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think I am good at listening to my students, analyzing and anticipating what they need or struggle with and meeting that. I try to always self-evaluate my teaching and try to improve it as well as shape it around their needs. I feel excitement when I can reach them with a different perspective or come at a problem at a different angle. I am also very passionate about maths and I think my personality and enthusiasm is contagious.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I want to cater to that student's needs. I think it is extremely important to ask what the students' goals are. You need to know the direction they want to go in order to meet their needs. Then take their goal and break it down into achievable pieces that they can accomplish. Lot of students get overwhelmed in math and my goal is to make them problem solvers/thinkers on their own. Throughout this process you need to, as a tutor, constantly be reshaping and reorganizing these lessons in order to fit their goals and speed.
