What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is the feeling of reward. A tutor and their student have the ability to create a symbiotic relationship, where they both learn and develop from each other. I find that watching a student integrate my feedback and advice to expand their perspective of the world, a feeling of reward. It is the knowledge that I have made a difference in the development of the student. However, equally rewarding is to learn about the world from the student who possess very different perspectives and experiences.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think I posses three key strengths as a tutor: patience, positivity and good listening. Firstly, I believe myself to be a patient person, which is undoubtedly helpful with the learning process of a student. Secondly, I pride myself on a positive attitude and spirit, using it to energise my students. Finally, I am a person who enjoys to listen to others and build a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy person to talk to.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think that there are two important things a tutor can do for a student. Firstly, a tutor should be there to supplement their studentβs work at school. A tutor should guide the student through their school studies and provide an additional, but supplementary, source for self-growth. Secondly, a tutor should inspire the student to set goals. Modelling a goal-setting attitude is important for students to work independently and find encouragement in learning.
